Cameron Tapp

Cameron Tapp is the face of Borne, an Australian rock band that has immediacy in industry recognition internationally.

Borne has released four albums and EPs since its debut on iTunes in 2003, where from tens of thousands of artists, its hit song “The Guide” from the “Loss of Signal” album, created an iTunes first. It was released simultaneously to all iTunes countries, in the US alone enjoying over 1.5million downloads in one week.

Cameron (37), a Tasmanian by birth has universal appeal to genres beyond rock and commands respect for his diversity across all genres, including soul, country, blues and classical, the latter of which was demonstrated in a special release album “Children”. This was a production in which Cameron sang with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra for a fund-raising special for orphaned African children.

Cameron’s diversity in voice projection and control, his adeptness in guitar accompaniment and clarity of diction; his diversity in vocalising sometimes complex lyric compositions and guitar arrangements has been described in the US as unique.

His achievements include winning the 2007 Independent Music Oz Awards and many of his compositions have been used in US network television programs such as Army Wives and more recently the new series The Philanthropist.
